Eli Manning is a two-time Super Bowl Champion who might have his bust in the hollowed halls of the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio one day and he comes from the most famous family in the world of football. Despite all his accomplishments why did Manning feel the need to pretend to be the most successful athlete of all time?
The person Manning pretended to be is the greatest olympian of all time Michael Phelps but apparently he didnt do it intentionally but in the process he did break a poor shop owner’s heart. Manning was on The Tonight Show when the host Jimmy Fallon brought up how Manning told him backstage about being mistaken for other celebrities and he revealed that he’s confused for being someone else a lot and he told a story about when a shopowner beleive that he was Michael Phelps.

Eli Manning was on trip with his kids when he stooped at a store and the owner asked him whether he was who he thought he was? Manning the New York Giants legend, who won two Super Bowl rings by defeating the GOAT Tom Brady, Bill Belichick and their New England Patriots in the big game, is used to being recognized in public probably thought the owner recognised who he really was and replied-“Yeah, I think so.”
That is when things took a turn as the owner shouted out excitedly-“Oh my gosh! Michael Phelps is in my store!’ “. That’s when Manning realized he was being confused for his ‘apparent’ doppleganger the legendary swimmer Michael Phelps. Manning had to break the sad news to he onwner that he wasn’t who he thought he was.

Manning didn’t explain how he got out of that situation but it might have been awkward to explain.
