Last Sunday, the San Francisco 49ers, led by their star quarterback Brock Purdy, defeated the Jared Goff-led Detroit Lions in their NFC championship game. In the thrilling game, the 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa registered two sacks and helped his team make a remarkable comeback. However, Bosa’s non-celebration after the sack led to social media accusing him of being a racist.

During the second quarter of the game, the 49ers were trailing by 7 points and needed their defense to step up. The 2022 Defensive Player of the Year, Nick Bosa, managed to get around the Lions’ right tackle Pennie Sewell quickly and brought down Goff to register his first sack of the game.

However, after sacking Goff to force a 3rd and long, Bosa just walked away without celebrating bringing Goff down. As a result, fans started to accuse the former All-Pro pass rusher of being a racist and trolled him on social media.

This is not the first time Bosa has faced racist allegations. When Bosa was selected as the second overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft by the Niners, he received a lot of criticism for his old controversial social media posts with racist undertones.

In one post, Bosa reportedly referred to the former 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick as a ‘clown’ seemingly for kneeling during the national anthem. Furthermore, he has also targeted several popular celebrities including Jay-Z, Beyonce, and Draymond Green in now-deleted tweets according to NFL.com.

Bosa apologized for his ‘immature’ posts after he was drafted by the Niners. In his apology, he said he was going to surround himself with different kinds of people and grow as a person.

In addition, his ex-girlfriend Jenna Berman also once received backlash for old racist posts when she was dating the Niners pass rusher. As a result, NFL fans pinpoint every small thing Bosa does in games to paint him as racist.

Many fans believe Bosa would’ve celebrated if he had sacked a Black QB. In reality, Bosa might’ve thought celebrating while being 7 points down in a conference game would’ve looked bad later. Check out some of the reactions attached below.

Nonetheless, Bosa will not be worried about people’s opinions on social media and would rather be focused on defeating the Kansas City Chiefs in their Super Bowl game in a couple of weeks.
