Jalen Hurts has done it! At 24 years and 175 days old, the Hurts became the youngest QB to lead the Eagles to the Super Bowl. Philadelphia Eagles dominated the entire game as they defeated the San Francisco 49ers 31-7 to advance to Super Bowl LVII as the NFC Champions.
The Eagles showed their intent to win the game right off the bat as Hurts threw a dart to wide receiver DeVonta Smith, who caught the touchdown with one hand. While some fans argued that the refs should’ve deemed it an incomplete pass, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan didn’t challenge the play and the ruling on the field stayed.
Shane Steichen‘s offense did a great job of maintaining the lead with touchdowns on every drive of the game. While Jalen Hurts wasn’t that efficient through the air, the running game was on point as all the running backs scored six points in the endzone. The Eagles’ defense lived up to their reputation of being a physical team as they managed to contain the 49ers’ offense to just a single touchdown for the entire 60 minutes.

Empire State Building congratulates the Philadelphia Eagles in a unique way

After Philly’s win, the Empire State Building, which is located in the heart of New York City, lit up with green and white colors to congratulate the team on advancing to the Super Bowl. However, New York Giants fans did not appreciate the iconic New York monument supporting their division rival. The Eagles Super Bowl run started with crushing the Giants in the divisional playoffs, which was a similar beat down to that of the 49ers on Sunday.
Just the thought that the Empire State Building houses not one but two teams – the Giants and the Jets, showing their support and enjoying Philadelphia’s win over the 49ers made most of the fans empty their insides.
After receiving heavy backlash from fans for lighting the building green and white, the Empire State Building honored the AFC Champs Kansas City Chiefs as well by donning the red and white color. The power of the Internet is real. They just bullied an iconic building into changing its lighting!
