“Mfs just be saying sh*t” – Social media blasts Von Miller and Mark Andrew for downplaying 4x MVP Aaron Rodgers when pinned against Lamar Jackson
Lamar Jackson's future with the Ravens is still undecided.

Lamar Jackson and the Ravens still haven’t reached a common ground even after more than a year of negotiations. After Deshaun Watson broke the quarterback market with his $230 million fully guaranteed deal with the Cleveland Browns, every signal-caller is looking to get the same deal. Some were lucky enough to get a deal in the ballpark of that range.
However, the Ravens are hesitant to shell out upwards of $200M for Jackson, who has proved himself to be the difference maker for them in the years he has been in the league. Barring a few injuries, there is no reason why Baltimore wouldn’t want to keep a generational talent like Lamar Jackson on their roster. The club did offer the star quarterback $133 million fully guaranteed, but he outright declined the deal because he believes that his talent and skills are worth more than that.
Lamar Jackson is expected to be a free agent in 2023 and if the Ravens are unable to sign him this offseason, they will most definitely franchise tag him and keep him for one more year to work on a better deal. Then there is the possibility that he might not agree to be tagged and rather sit out the 2023 season until he becomes an unrestricted free agent.
Von Miller and Mark Andrews feel Lamar Jackson should be paid similarly to Aaron Rodgers
Everyone in the league is weighing in on the drama going on in Baltimore regarding Lamar Jackson’s contract. The most recent players to discuss Jackson’s contract saga were Super Bowl 50 MVP Von Miller and Ravens tight end Mark Andrews. The two talked about the 2019 NFL MVP’s skills as a quarterback and why the Ravens should pay him on their podcast.
Von Miller said, “[Jackson] does more than Aaron Rodgers … [Jackson] does everything and Aaron Rodgers is getting $50 million.” The Green Bay quarterback did lack in the 2022 season after he received the record-breaking contract extension from the team. There was a steep drop in production of Rodgers and he failed to lead the Packers to the offseason, but there is no doubt that he is one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever throw the football.
Even Mark Andrews agreed with Miller’s statement and added, “Oh my God, he does everything. You’re speaking facts, man. Everything you said is true man. He deserves it. He deserves more, man. He’s a fierce competitor. Every time he steps on that field, he’s the one, man. He’s the guy, there’s no one like him.”
Just last month, Baltimore signed a five-year $100 million contract extension with linebacker Roquan Smith. So, maybe there is a salary cap issue that is hindering them from paying Jackson what he’s demanding, or maybe that’s not the case. However, Andrews believes that both parties want to be together.
“So he’s a very special guy and I know he’s gonna get paid and I just hope that the deal gets done because I know the Ravens want to get the deal done. I think that he wants to be a Raven as well, so hopefully both parties can get that done. You know how it is, though,” Andrews added. With the way the negotiation has unfolded, it is highly unlikely that they sign with Jackson.
Although Fans didn’t appreciate Miller and Andrews comparing Aaron Rodgers and Lamar Jackson and thrashed them on Twitter. Here are some of the reactions.
The franchise tag deadline is March 7, so hopefully, everyone will get to know what the Ravens have planned. The 2023 draft class has a lot of great quarterbacks, so there is also the possibility that Baltimore trade Lamar Jackson and move higher up in the pick and select a new quarterback. Jackson’s trade just might shake up both conferences. It’ll be interesting to see where he lands for the 2023 season.
