The Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes just bagged his second league MVP award within just 5 years as a starter. The 27-year-old quarterback became the second youngest player to become the two-time NFL MVP. Following the news, the Chiefs fans on social media crowned him as the best player of all time.
The sixth-year quarterback Patrick Mahomes was named the 2022 AP NFL MVP during the annual NFL Honors award show on Thursday in Phoenix, Arizona. Mahomes won by a landslide as he got 48 of the total 50 votes and accumulated a total of 490 points. The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts and the Bills franchise QB Josh Allen got the other two first-place votes.
The Chiefs QB couldn’t manage to attend the ceremony to accept his award in person since he and his team are focused on preparing for their Super Bowl game against the NFC Champions Eagles. However, Mahomes did have a pre-taped message for his teammates.
“To the Chiefs organization, Clark Hunt, Brett Veach, Andy Reid, the staff and most of all, my teammates, I would never be standing here today without y’all,” Mahomes said in a pre-taped speech. “Every day giving everything that we have together to go for the ultimate goal, the Super Bowl. Let’s continue to go for that dream this weekend.”

The Chiefs fans on social media were ecstatic after their quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, won his second career MVP. Even though he has become a two-time NFL MVP award within just five years as a starter, he’s still not the youngest player to become a two-time league MVP.
That achievement belongs to the Cleveland Browns running back Jim Brown who won back-to-back MVP awards in 1957 and 1958. Brown won consecutive MVPs in his first two years in the league that might never happen again.
Even though he’s not the youngest to do it it’s still a great achievement and the fans were celebrating the news. However, some people believe Jalen Hurts should have won the MVP over Mahomes but their stats speak for themselves.
Nonetheless, both the quarterbacks would be focused on the bigger price as they both are preparing to face each other’s teams in the much-awaited Super Bowl game this weekend.
