Sports media powerhouse ESPN just canceled its national morning radio show featuring Max Kellerman, Keyshawn Johnson, and Jay Williams. This is just the start of what seems to be a series of company-wide layoffs as per reports.
ESPN is in the midst of a major restructuring and will start laying off employees from the next week itself. Now, what this restriction means for the three hosts is still unclear. Nothing concrete can be said about whether or not they will be staying with the network.
Max Kellerman is at a high risk because he has now lost his radio platform and his TV program. “This Just In” will fight tooth and nail for viewers since it will air at the same time as “The Pat McAfee Show” which is a fan favorite show.

Fans unaware of a show featuring Max Kellerman, Keyshawn Johnson, and Jay Williams
Former NFL wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson and former NBA point guard Jay Williams‘ future with ESPN still hangs in the balance. Johnson just signed a four-year $18 million extension and there is a strong possibility that ESPN buys out his contract.
Williams, on the other hand, will see the end of his contract in a few weeks. Nothing can be said about Williams’ future with ESPN as well. When approached by The New York Post for an official statement, the representative declined to give one.
Fans weren’t moved by ESPN canceling the show because most of them didn’t know it existed in the first place. Here are a few reactions from fans being completely unfazed by the news.
In Keyshawn Johnson’s case, he might end up working for Fox Sports on Undisputed. Skip Bayless just lost his longtime co-host, Shannon Sharpe. With ESPN focused on restructuring, Sharpe might not get a chance to feature on First Take alongside Stephen A. Smith.
ESPN is creating major shockwaves with their layoffs and are expected to continue to do so.
