“Big blow for Cardinals”: Star QB Kyler Murray tests positive for Covid-19, will not practice 5 days

Kyler Murray
Arizona Cardinals will have to practice without near quarter billion dollar asset Quarterback Kyler Murray after he tested +ve for COVID-19. Cardinals and Murray came to agreement regarding Murray’s contract extension. After tense negotiations, the Pro Bowl quarterback and Cardinals agreed to a massive 5 year extension worth $230.5 million with $160 million guarantees on July 21.
Cardinals and Murray haven’t haven’t had the best time since signing the contract as a clause in the contract regarding mandatory film study for the Quarterback landed them both in hot water. Since then the clause has been removed per Cardinals. Now the positive test hasn’t made things difficult for both.
Kyler Murray isolated, “minor symptoms” per Kliff Kingsbury

While the NFL no longer has COVID-19 protocols, the league informed teams in June that anyone who tests positive must isolate for at least five days, in accordance with CDC guidelines.
Kyler will miss 5 days of practice as he isolates per league guidelines although his symptoms are “minor” per Kliff Kingsbury. In Murray’s absence backups Colt McCoy and Trace McSorley will get reps to show their skills and have some significant practice. Murray didn’t practice on Saturday too as he had some minor issues with his wrist.
Cardinals will be hoping Murray will recover soon and doesn’t have to stay away for too long as they get ready for a campaign where they hope to make a deep postseason run. Murray will also be raring to go and prove himself after his mega contract was panned by some.
