The Pittsburgh Steelers traveled to Las Vegas to play the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. They won the game, 18-23, and improved to 2-1 for the season. However, while returning to Pittsburgh, the team’s charter plan had to make an emergency landing in Kansas City because of an ‘alarming situation.’ Their plane made the landing just before 4 a.m. on Monday.

KDKA TV had a pair of journalists on the plane who reported that there was an issue with oil pressure in one of the engines. The Steelers were originally scheduled to arrive in Pittsburgh at around 5.30 AM ET. Multiple players on the team took to Twitter to show their frustrations regarding the situation, as they were reportedly on the plane for more than 10 hours.

“Just wanna go home! This s**t is crazy!” Linebacker Kwon Alexander posted on Twitter. Veteran defensive end, Cam Heyward wrote, “Dang emergency landing in KC, I think it’s due to @minkfitz_21 “roughing the passer call” but seriously landing KC…..” The Steelers’ spokesman Burt Lauten posted on Twitter saying, “everyone on the plane is safe and we are making necessary plans to arrive back in Pittsburgh later today.”

Head coach Mike Tomlin gave Monday off to the team after a tough road win against the Raiders. They will play their next game against the Houston Texans and will look to continue this winning momentum next Sunday.

Cam Heyward jokingly asks Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift for a ride back to Pittsburg

The Pittsburgh Steelers’ charter plane left Las Vegas after their game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. However, due to an oil pressure failure in one of the engines, the plane had to do an emergency landing in Kansas City.

The plane landed in KC at around 4 a.m. Multiple players tweeted about the frustrating situation. Defensive end Cam Heyward, however, took this opportunity to joke about needing a ride back to Pittsburgh. He tagged Kansas City Chiefs‘ TE Travis Kelce and his rumored girlfriend and popular singer Taylor Swift on Twitter.

The Chiefs played the Chicago Bears on Sunday, as Swift was in attendance to support her rumored boyfriend Kelce. The rumors of the pair dating were confirmed earlier this week by Travis’ older brother and the Philadelphia Eagles’ center, Jason Kelce. Travis asked Swift to attend the game, and she obliged, giving Heyward the chance to share the perfect tweet on a rather imperfect night.
