Stefon Diggs, the wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills, finally broke his silence and opened up on the comments made by the Buffalo team reporter Maddy Glab after the horrific defeat in their season opener against the New York Jets. The Bills lost the game by 22-16 due to poor play on the ground. Quarterback Josh Allen had a pathetic game as he threw for three interceptions and had a fumble. Diggs, despite having a good game, failed to improvise much. The Jets emerged as the winner without having Rodgers on their side.
Reacting to the claims of Glab, the WR wrote on X, “The audio shared was very hurtful. And was insulting to my character and to how I was raised. I’ve always treated people how I want to be treated. I greet everyone with smiles and respect. From the people in our cafe to the people that keep our building in clean & in order.”
“Idk why it was said, but this is an example of why people don’t want to deal with the media. It’s hard to fight the preconceived notions people have about you. Regardless of ever having a personal experience with them,” he further added in a separate post.
The player also added that he respects everyone for the job they are doing. However, he expected a bit of sensitivity from everyone as he is a human being just like the others.
What happened between Stefon Diggs and Glab?
The story traces back to a week ago. After the defeat against the Jets, team reporter Maddy Glab hammered Diggs. She implied that Diggs is arrogant and does not listen to anyone. He rarely takes advice or suggestions from others and does not care about what others are thinking.
“There’s no control over Stefon Diggs. Dudes gonna do what he wants to do. He’ll look in my face and say F you…that’s how he treats everybody,” the lady said while not realizing that the mics were on and she was audible. She later came with an apology. On her X handle, she wrote that she respects Diggs a lot, and he is one of her favorite players. She did not want to hurt the sentiment of the player. Glab took full responsibility for the comments she made.
Last year, the Bills emerged as the division champion. However, they lost the playoff game against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Diggs-Allen duo was a hit for the team last year. It is to be seen whether the Duo has the same impact this year as well.
