The Baltimore Ravens were supposed to be in the Super Bowl instead of the Kansas City Chiefs. They were the best team in the league this season. Lamar Jackson and the Ravens finished their regular season campaign with a record of 13-4, which was the best in the league. They had the home-field advantage as well for the playoffs, whereas the Chiefs had to travel to multiple cities to get to the ultimate game.
However, it came undone in the AFC title game, as the Chiefs outplayed the Ravens on their own patch. Jackson, who will likely win his second career league MVP award this season, failed to lead his team to the Super Bowl. He had a poor outing against the Chiefs, whereas his counterpart, Patrick Mahomes dominated the game. ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith blasted Jackson and the Ravens and called their loss to the Chiefs “a choke job.”

Smith said on the latest episode of First Take:
Ladies and gentlemen, with all due respect, this was a choke job. What is the definition of a choke job? It’s doing what you always do, what you’re accustomed to doing, until the moment arrives, and then you don’t. That is the definition of what we’re talking about over here.Stephen A. Smith said
Even though Jackson ran for 54 yards and completed 272 yards passing the Ravens’ offense managed just 10 points overall in their defeat to the Chiefs. At this point in his career, Jackson is just 2–4 in the playoffs.
Additionally, the fact that one of the favorites for league MVP lost to another outstanding quarterback in a pivotal game leaves a stain on the Baltimore quarterback’s resume considering how dominant the Ravens were during the regular season.
Lamar Jackson was ‘angry’ after the Ravens’ AFC title loss to the Chiefs
The Baltimore Ravens’ loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game was a heartbreaker for Lamar Jackson and company. The one-time MVP was supposed to lead his team to the title game but failed to do so against the reigning Super Bowl champions. Jackson opened up about the loss after the game.

Jackson said, following the Ravens’ 17-10 loss:
We’re mad. Offense, we didn’t put nothing on the board. We scored once. That’s not like us. We drove the ball down the field. That’s cool. But we got to put points on the board. But I feel like my team just angry, not frustrated, we just angry.Lamar Jackson said
With the opportunity to make history by becoming the first back-to-back champions since the 2004 New England Patriots, the Chiefs are making their fourth trip to the Super Bowl in five years. The Ravens on the other hand have entered a long offseason.
