If there’s a hot topic going around in the world of sports, then Stephen A. Smith will always share his opinion on it. So when he heard about the latest news surrounding former NFL player Philip Rivers becoming a father for the 10th time, Stephen A. could not stop praising not the former Chargers man but his wife, Tiffany.

The Veteran ESPN announcer and presenter was on fire, as always, with his comments. In the latest issue of his show, Stephen A. said Philip Rivers is a happy man because of his wife. He said, “Tiffany Rivers, you’re very good, a phenomenal mother, wife, and clearly a phenomenal lover.” He goes on to emphasize that having this many children is very rare in this day and age.

Stephen A. was taken aback by the number. Despite being the sixth child himself, Stephen A. said his mother wasn’t anything like Tiffany Rivers. “Six, seven, eight, nine, and he (Philip Rivers) still wanted a tenth,” Stephen A. praised her, saying Philip Rivers, even after nine kids,” wants her badly.”

Rivers was undoubtedly a happy man while announcing the arrival of his child later this year. He revealed that it was a boy, and they were trying for one. “Everyone was pulling for a boy. Even our girls wanted a boy,” Rivers told AL.com.

The Alabama native, Philip Rivers, spent 16 seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers (formerly the San Diego Chargers). He was the fourth overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft. During his time with the Chargers, Rivers won eight Pro Bowls. He led the NFL in 2010 for passing yards.

Rivers, in 244 games in the league, recorded 63,440 passing yards with 421 touchdowns and 209 interceptions. He retired after playing just one season with the Indianapolis Colts in January 2021.

After hanging up his boots, 41-year-old Philip Rivers turned to his roots. He is Roman Catholic, and his wife, Tiffany, too, converted after their marriage. They have nine children together, ranging in age from 4 to 21. Halle (21), Caroline (18), Grace (17), Gunner (15), Sarah (13), Peter (12), Rebecca (9), Clare (7), and Anna (4)

His eldest son, Gunner, will be the starting quarterback for St. Michael’s Catholic, where Rivers is the Football coach. While he and Tiffany are picking out a name for their next child, their other kids are excited to welcome a new member into the family.
