“Barely defending his QB yeah Cowboys are cooked” – Micah Parsons not defending Dak Prescott from Stephen A. Smith’s verbal attack triggers NFL fans on social media
Dak Prescott had one of the best seasons of his career in 2023 but failed to lead the Cowboys to a Super Bowl, again.

Stephen A. Smith and Micah Parsons seated across the same podcast table was a collaboration that fans had no idea they needed. The prominent sports analyst appeared on The Edge with Micah Parsons show and spoke on several topics, one of them which was Dak Prescott. The Dallas Cowboys faced a bitter ending to their successful season after losing to the Green Bay Packers in the first round of the playoffs.
Stephen A. Smith did not hold back when talking about Dak Prescott. He said:
He is a choir boy on the football field, bro.
At this point, Parsons chimed in and called Dak Prescott a “new generation” quarterback but the analyst was not having any of that.
Micah, stop it. You show up with the star on your helmet and you like this, 'I', Micah. Here I am. Let's go.
Stephen A. Smith was speaking in the context that Parsons is always ready to play and shows up when his team needs him. But that is not necessarily the case with Dak Prescott always. He further pointed out that whenever the Cowboys have lost, Micah Parsons is a part of that loss, but he is never the reason why the team lost. Not once has Stephen A. watched the Cowboys lose and blamed Parsons as the sole reason for the outcome of the game.
Fans bashed Micah Parsons for not defending Dak Prescott against Stephen A. Smith’s rant
However, the same cannot be said with Dak Prescott. Stephen A. added,
I ain't never look at the Cowboys and look at you, and say, it's your fault! I'll be damned if I haven't said that about Dak Prescott at least five times. Stop it.
Stephen A. Smith’s biggest issue with the QB is that when the game begins to slip away from his hands, he is not able to stay composed.
Dak, yo...he got to own it bro. You got to step up and you got to handle your business.
Parsons intervened at this point in an attempt to defend his QB by stating that football is a team game and that one person cannot be blamed for the outcome. However, if a quarterback is credited for leading his team to a successful season and a championship, why should he not be held accountable when the team fails? Fans were quick to critique Parsons for not defending Dak Prescott.

In the case of the Dallas Cowboys, Dak Prescott faltered against the Packers. He threw for two interceptions, which put a dent in his confidence. In the second half, he looked like the man who was in the race to win MVP, but it was too late. His efforts to cut the deficit failed because the gap kept widening.
Prescott has been facing a lot of heat lately from fans and family members of his teammates. His contract is due to be extended in the offseason and it will be interesting to see how things pan out for him moving forward.
