The ESPN show First Take is one of the most popular sports talk shows among fans. The show is hosted by Stephen A. Smith, and Molly Qerim and features several rotating guests, including Dan Orlovsky and Shannon Sharpe. During Tuesday’s episode of the show, a weird moment happened that left some fans disgusted.

In the episode, the former Detroit Lions quarterback Dan Orlovsky was holding Molly Qerim’s shoes on his and bizarrely decided to take a sniff, which even shocked his colleagues.

Are you really sniffing the shoe? I just got the shoe and I have tights on. Don’t be weird. Will you give me my shoe back?
Qerim pleaded

Both Shannon Sharpe and Stephen A. Smith also chimed in to share their opinions about the awkward incident. The former Denver Broncos tight end seemingly weirded about the incident.

While Sharpe and Molly Qerim seem to be weirded about Dan Orlovsky’s actions, the show host Stephen A. seemed to embrace the uncomfortable sniff.

Smith joked

It is unclear what Smith was doing with Qerim’s shoe in his hand, but it seems like with every episode, First Take is getting weirder. Just a few months ago, Smith made an uncomfortable ‘vibrating’ phone joke. That joke made Orlovsky blush and hide his face while laughing, but now he is becoming more and more comfortable with awkward jokes.

However, the fans aren’t really feeling the crude humor. Some fans expressed disgust with Orlovsky’s actions, especially after seeing Qerim’s awkward reaction.

Following the backlash, Orlovsky later addressed the situation on The Pat McAfee Show. Orlovsky justified his actions by claiming that they were brand-new shoes.

Here's what I don't understand is why everyone is so taken aback: it's the first time she's worn the shoes. Of course they're going to smell totally normal.

Furthermore, the former NFL quarterback also revealed that the shoes were a gift from Stephen A. Smith, and that wasn’t even the first time he has smelled footwears. He also strangely admitted that he smells his kids’ shoes once or twice a year.
