Stephen A. Smith throws shade at Cowboys QB Dak Prescott while HAILING Jalen Hurts, throws Kirk Cousins out of his elite list
It seems Stephen A. still has faith in Dak Prescott, be it very little.

A lot of big-name players have moved on to franchises in the AFC, and few chose to hang up their boots in the 2023 NFL season. Even the quarterback situation is very bleak compared to the NFC, where several of the bottom-half teams feature. So compiling a list of the best quarterbacks in the comparatively weak conference is no mere child’s play. Stephen A. Smith, however, decided to take up the challenge. Despite his constant irritation with Dak Prescott, the Cowboys man makes it. But the surprise of the lot was the exclusion of Kirk Cousins.
In a recent episode on ESPN, Stephen A. presented the A-List. He started with Seattle quarterback Geno Smith and pointed out, “The brother (Geno Smith) nearly completed 70% of his passes last year and got Seattle to the postseason.”
Stephen A. Smith’s next entry on the list was Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. “He (Prescott) is playing for the star. There’s enormous pressure comes with the responsibilities, but from talent perspectives there’s no denying it that Dak Prescott is definitely top 5 in NFC” reminded Stephen A., explaining why he kept Prescott only at No. 4 and said, “I can’t throw shade on a brother even though he had problems last year.”
Jared Goff from the Detroit Lions was one of the outside shouts made by Stephen A. Smith. “The Detroit Lions had a 9-8 record. They were knocking on the door of a player’s birth. He (Goff) played well. He threw 30 touchdowns and completed more than 67% of his passes.”
The most out-of-the-box entry on the list was 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy. But Stephen A. gave his reasons for placing Purdy in second place. He said, “This man got the job midseason, showed up, and showed out! Guided them (the 49ers) to an NFC championship game.”
However, Stephen A.’s No. 1 pick is undoubtedly justified because he named Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts. “The new 179 million-dollar guaranteed quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles, who was in the Super Bowl,” said Stephen A. Then he reminded everyone of the reason Hurts is the top quarterback in the NFC: “300 yards bashing over 70 yards rushing and three touchdowns in a Super Bowl!”

Dak Prescott is worthy of being on Stephen A. Smith’s NFC quarterback list despite his worst season
The Cowboys quarterback is entering his eighth NFL season in 2023. Last season was something to forget for Prescott, despite the Cowboys 12-5 record. The 29-year-old had the worst year in terms of interceptions (15) made from his throws, even though he only played 12 games. He broke his previous worst of 2017 when the opposition managed to intercept 13 of his passes.
Prescott will be looking to do better as he enters his twilight years after recovering from an injury. Even Joy Taylor doesn’t believe that a two-time Pro Bowler isn’t good enough to play in a championship game. But Prescott himself believes that reaching 30 has only increased his urge to win the Super Bowl even more.
