The Baltimore Ravens’ QB Lamar Jackson is one of the frontrunners to win the MVP award this season. He has led the Ravens to an 11-3 record this season and has been great throughout the campaign. However, there are still a lot of critics who have doubts about Jackson and the Ravens this season. One former player who has come to Jackson’s defense is Steve Young.

Jackson has accumulated 3,105 yards, 17 touchdowns and 7 interceptions this season. He had an injury-marred 2022 campaign, but has bounced back in spectacular fashion this season. Young though, has had enough of the Jackson-slander and called out all the critics of the former MVP in an interview with The Vault.

Young said:

Don’t tell me, ‘Well, that’s Lamar - he can’t do certain things.’ I pull my hair out … because do not diminish the potential of what Lamar Jackson can be in the game today. I beg them to continue to take chances to let him develop because I still believe that, like Patrick Mahomes, Lamar could be the greatest player. You see Patrick headed that direction. And I think he and Lamar could go head-to-head for 10 more years.

The Ravens are the top seed in the AFC through 15 weeks of the season. They have been, by far the best team in that conference and are in prime position to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl this year. Jackson has been a huge reason for the team’s success this year and he will look to end the season on a high in the team’s remaining three games.

Lamar Jackson downplays claims that the Ravens-49ers game is a Super Bowl prelude

The Baltimore Ravens will take on the San Francisco 49ers on Monday in a potential Super Bowl preview. It is a game between two top teams in the NFL this year and will be a thrilling matchup. However, Ravens’ QB Lamar Jackson doesn’t feel like this is a Super Bowl preview and wants to take it as just another game.

Jackson said on the Ravens-Niners game on Monday:

The Super Bowl is in February. We’re in December right now. We’ve got to focus on Monday night. I’m not worried about what people say.

The winner of this game will be the best team in the NFL in terms of record.

The Ravens won their last game against the Jacksonville Jaguars with a score of 23-7. They are now on a four-game winning streak and will look to continue that streak against the Niners on Monday.
