The New England Patriots‘ head coach, Bill Belichick, has never faced pressure like this in his career. It remains the kind of pressure that is very hard to overcome. The Pats have looked like the worst they have ever played. Belichick is widely regarded as the greatest coach of all time. However, other coaches have consistently outcoached him this season.
Opposing teams have destroyed the Patriots with 72 points in their last two games. On the other hand, they have scored only three points. The New Orleans Saints shut them out in their latest game on Sunday. According to former Super Bowl champion Bernard Pollard, things won’t change in New England until they fire Belichick.
“It’s going to have to be a new coach,” Pollard said on OutKick’s Hot Mic. “But I’m seeing an organization, I’m seeing a football team that’s terrible. I don’t know if this is the way Belichick wants to go out or wanted to go out, but I think this is going to be the way he goes out. They’ve got to start with a new coach, they’ve got to get something fresh in there to start this thing over for New England. They’ve been good for a long time, hats off to them, but it’s time to start over.”
Belichick has benched his starting QB, Mac Jones, in their last two games. However, even backup Bailey Zappe could not turn things around. The Pats will have to turn this around quickly, or this might be Belichick’s last season in New England. They will play against the Las Vegas Raiders in the next game.

Tom Brady defends Bill Belichick’s approach despite poor start to the season
Bill Belichick has faced a lot of criticism for the New England Patriots’ poor start to the season. However, the head coach’s former quarterback and one of the greatest players of all time, Tom Brady, defended Belichick’s approach. Brady believed that he would be the same person he had always been.
“Absolutely,” Brady said on his podcast Let’s Go! “I think that he’s got a very consistent approach that he’s always taken and, you know, it’s the right approach. It’s try to prepare the players, give them the best opportunity to succeed.” Despite the results, Brady said Belichick’s work ethic remains the same. However, the team’s struggle was something new unlike in the past.
The Patriots won six Super Bowls with Tom Brady and Belichick as the QB-head coach combo. However, Brady departed the Pats in 2020 and Belichick has struggled to get into the postseason. Belichick’s time as the Patriots might be nearing its end.
