Last Monday, the Philadelphia Eagles suffered a brutal 32-9 loss against the NFC South champions, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their wildcard game. Following the early exit from the postseason, the Eagles center Jason Kelce reportedly told his teammates about his decision to retire from the sport. After Kelce’s retirement news broke out, Taylor Swift fans started sharing highlight videos of the Eagles center.

Taylor Swift is currently dating the Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, who is the brother of the Eagles offensive lineman Jason Kelce. As a result, Swifties got emotional seeing the brother of their favorite music star’s boyfriend retire from playing football.

Jason hasn’t officially made a statement about his retirement yet, but ESPN reporter Adam Schefter reported on Monday that the 36-year-old center told his teammates that he is hanging up his boots after dominating the sport for more than a decade. Jason Kelce has been contemplating retirement for several seasons now.

Last year, after a heartbreaking loss against the Chiefs in the Super Bowl, he reportedly thought about retiring but eventually signed a one-year deal with the Philadelphia-based football team. However, this year, given everything that unfolded in the last weeks, Kelce has reportedly decided to leave the game.

Jason Kelce was drafted by the Eagles in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft and has been their center ever since. In his 13-year run, he has received 7 Pro Bowl nods and has been named to the first-team All-Pro squad 6 times, including the 2023 season.
