Travis Kelce’s $1.1 billion worth girlfriend Taylor Swift threatens to sue stalker who tracks movement of her private jet

Taylor Swift‘s attorney has threatened to sue Jack Sweeney if he willfully doesn’t cease tracking the pop star’s private plane’s path and usage. Sweeney, who is a student at the University of Central Florida, runs a social media account that tracks not only Swift’s but several other celebrities’ flight patterns.

He gathers data from open platforms (the Federal Aviation Administration, or FAA), compiles it up, and releases it on sites such as X (formerly Twitter) or Instagram. Sweeny famously caught Elon Musk‘s attention for tracking his jet travels online. Forbes even added the 21-year-old to their 30 under 30 list.

However, in December last year, Swift’s attorney, Katie Wright Morrone, accused Sweeney of engaging in “stalking and harassing behaviors” for tracking Swift’s private jet. Morrone wrote a letter, as per the Guardian:

While this may be a game to you or an avenue that you hope will earn you wealth or fame, it is a life-or-death matter for our client. [There's] no legitimate interest in or public need for this information other than to stalk, harass, and exert dominion and control.

The letter even stated that there were individuals who showed up at the front door of the ‘cruel summer’ singer’s house with weapons in order to harm her. It also argues that sharing Swift’s location information provides these people “a roadmap to carry out their plans.”

Was the letter from Taylor Swift’s attorney meant to scare Jack Sweeney?

According to the Guardian, Tree Paine, a spokesperson for Taylor Swift, revealed they will not provide a statement for now. It’s an ongoing police investigation, “but we can confirm the timing of stalkers suggests a connection.”

Previously, Swift faced heat from environmental activists for buying extra carbon credits for jet travel. But Paine had revealed that she’s not the only one who uses the jet. The 34-year-old often lends money out to others for them to use as they see fit.

Sweeny, on the other hand, believes that the letter from Morrone is nothing more than a scare tactic. In response to the letter, he told CNN that his intentions were never to harm anyone. Rather, he believes that Swift has some very good songs. He only champions “transparency and public information.”

As per Collin Rugg, Swift is selling one of her $40 million Dassault Falcon 900LX Jets following the letter. But she will be keeping the $54 million Dassault Falcon 7X, which has been Swift’s primary mode of transportation for her Eras Tour.

After Sweeny revealed information on Elon Musk‘s flight back in 2022, the two got involved in a Twitter war. Sweeny told the billionaire that he would stop, but Musk had to pay $50,000. But Musk deleted Sweeny’s account after acquiring Twitter. Recently, both Facebook and Instagram have disabled social media accounts, citing that they violate privacy rules.
