Taylor Swift is one of Travis Kelce‘s biggest supporters. But if the 34-year-old starts dropping passes just days after announcing that the Kansas City Chiefs skill players are no slouches, then even the pop icon is allowed to throw a sigh or two.

After a disappointing result at Arrowhead last week against the Buffalo Bills, the Chiefs traveled east to face the 3-10 New England Patriots. Unlike Kelce and crew, the Pats had a rare victory on Week 15, raising team morale. Even though they have nothing to play for besides pride, a win over the reigning Super Bowl winner will increase their confidence even more.

To the surprise of Swift, the Patriots kept themselves in the game, ending the first half just 4 points behind the visitors. Kelce was struggling, and it was clear to see. In the first two quarters, he only caught the ball twice. And to make matters worse, he dropped a crucial touchdown inside the Patriots end zone.

Four minutes into the third quarter, the Chiefs were on 2 and 10 in New England territory. Patrick Mahomes post-snap-scanned and lopped the ball forward. Kelce slipped a couple of New Englanders and got free inside the endzone, only to drop it as if it were covered in butter.

Shortly after the dropped pass, the FOX camera panned towards where Taylor Swift was sitting. The Grammy winner couldn’t believe her eyes that her Travis could not hold onto the pass.

It has been an eventful week for Swift, who recently turned 34 herself. Although she missed the chance to throw a big party now that she has finally found the love of her life, the ‘You Belong With Me’ singer managed to organize a private gathering with close friends and family.

Cut to Sunday before the Chiefs took on the Patriots at Foxborough, she was greeted with a pleasant surprise from none other than her own father. While the players prepared themselves on the pitch, Scott Swift arranged a special cake for his little girl. A TikTok video showed Papa Swift entering Taylor’s VIP Suite, saying “Happy Birthday.”

The game ended in a Chiefs victory, 27-17. Travis Kelce only had 5 catches for 28 yards. Mahomes has thrown two picks since the Denver Broncos game in October. He finished the day with 27/37 for 305 yards and 2 touchdowns. Rookie receiver Rashee Rice scored his 7th touchdown of the season, gaining 91 yards from nine receptions. The Chiefs are now 9-5, first in the AFC West, and sit in third place for the AFC playoff seed.
