Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift‘s relationship has been cute for the most part. But the duo have some unlikeable moments of each other as well, at least Swift does. Following the tight end’s third Super Bowl victory with the Kansas City Chiefs, the pop star was on the podium along with the whole squad reveling in the celebrations. At this point, Kelce decided to pay homage to the late great Elvis Presley by screaming Viva Las Vegas at the top of his lungs.

Turns out, the only person who was flattered by his decision was Will Bratton, the President of Pomus Songs Inc. which has the rights to Presley’s records. Bratton said the company was “very excited about him doing that. Royalties are paid for that performance through BMI.” Coming back to Taylor Swift, she was not a fan of that and her facial expressions made it evident.

As Kelce held the Lombardi Trophy and sang the song, Taylor Swift’s facial expression changed, she began to wonder why, just why was he doing this? She knew that she could not completely give in to her emotions and look visibly disgusted but as Darth Vader once said “The force is strong with this one”, the ick was stronger in this situation.

Some fans caught her response and went as far as to claim that their relationship might not be real.

Honestly? The more their relationship is pushed, the more our reality feels like The Hunger Games. It's not real. Hollywood is a tool for distraction. Give it 6 months or less, they'll be broken up and everyone will have something or someone new to gossip and meme about.

The combination of an emotional Travis Kelce with that beard yelling Viva Las Vegas led another fan to call the tight end a “Neanderthal.” Fans may be reading too much into this incident, as per marriage and family therapist Gary Brown who spoke to USA Today regarding this viral moment between Swift and Kelce. He described such expressions as micro-expressions that are just mere snapshots that were taken at the moment.

These micro-expressions do not give fans a clear idea of what happened. There are so many variables that remain oblivious to the public such as the nature of their relationship, their love language, and the bond shared between them. Without knowing these fundamentals, it is impossible to make any judgments on their love. It is not surprising to see fans chime in with their opinions, after all the star-studded relationship has been the focus of the media for most of last year.
