The Houston Texan‘s quarterback CJ Stroud‘s journey came to an end after the loss against the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens were the favorite ahead of the game and they did justice to the same. It was a pretty comfortable victory for the Texans as they won convincingly 34-10.
For the first two quarters, it was a neck-to-neck battle. Both teams were on the same page with the same share of points. The Ravens accelerated in the third and the fourth quarter by registering 24 points. The Texans failed to win a single point in those two quarters. It was the Ravens’ defense that had a pivotal role in stopping the Texans’ offense and the quarterback CJ Stroud.
Stroud failed to impress much in the postseason game. He had a game with zero touchdowns and zero interceptions. He also covered just 175 yards. Though he was not intercepted, his ineffective role made things easy for the Ravens. They did not have to do much to stop the quarterback.
Nevertheless, a not-so-good performance by the Texans QB will not erase the impact that he had in the league. He carried his team to the playoffs after four years. The Texans got back to their rhythm because of the quarterback they selected ahead of the season. His performance will be remembered by everyone.
This season’s NFL witnessed the most raw as well as the most dangerous version of the quarterback. While addressing that in front of the media, the Texans QB said that he has emerged with a killer mindset.
He said:
Where I come from, in college, if you don't win it all, then it's kind of a fail. So that's kind of like the mindset I have.CJ Stroud told the reporters
While talking about the team, the QB added that the Texans had all the qualities this season.
CJ Stroud is still favorite for the MVP Award
Despite losing the battle in the Divisional Round, CJ Stroud is still the favorite to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year award.
Stroud finished his season with 23 TDs and five interceptions. He also covered more than 4,100 yards in the regular season.
Stroud faced tough competition from Puka Nacua who was also one of the favorites to win the OROTY Award. Nacua and his team were also eliminated in the playoff round. Though the postseason does not influence the award much, but Stroud is still the favorite to win the award.
