“That’s the last tablet he breaks” NFL issues new punishment for players after Tom Brady went on a tablet-breaking rampage against the Saints
Tom Brady is considered one of the most dedicated athletes in the NFL and is known for showing his frustration in different ways, sometimes by shouting at his players and sometimes by smashing the innocent tablet on the sidelines.
The NFL week 2 matchup against the Saints saw the Bucs QB smash 2 tablets due to clear frustration, though the Bucs won the game Tom Brady was not happy about the way the team was playing and the tablet had to bear the weight of the grunt.
This is not the first time Brady has demolished a tablet, last season in December he did the same thing against the same opponent and smashed a tablet so hard that it broke into two pieces. Either the quality of the tablet was really low or Tom Brady has insane arm strength.
The NFL had enough after the recent tablet-smashing fiasco and issued a notice to every team and every player stating that from now on heavy punishments and hefty fines will be issued if the tablets are to be broken again by anyone.
Tom Brady is not the only one who indulges in this activity, the reigning Super Bowl MVP Aaron Rodgers also followed suit by throwing a tablet but he was fined by the NFL for doing so. This makes me wonder why was Tom Brady allowed to do it then.
“I think I forgot the password”: Tom Brady reacts to the tablet-breaking controversy
Tom Brady addressed the situation on the Let’s Go podcast and said that he was sorry about breaking 2 tablets and knew that this incident would become a big deal and the Bucs QB would become a meme. But, no one expected that the NFL would take the incident that seriously.
“I think I forgot the password and I couldn’t log in, so those things can be frustrating.” Tom Brady stated on the podcast. “Unfortunately, the tablet just happens to get in the way, and obviously that’s the reason things weren’t going great against the Saints. So, I had to take it out on the poor meaningless tablet.”
The controversy incited a lot of outrage from the people and demanded retribution for the innocent tablet and the NFL answered by issuing a lame memo to every single team in the league.
