“From UNDERDOG to TOP DOG”: Jalen Hurts has shut every critic down and PROVEN himself to be the face of the Philadelphia Eagles
Jalen Hurts has a positive and competitive aura around him that is just contagious to the team.
Jalen Hurts is the man. The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback has been the key reason for the team’s 6-0 undefeated run so far. The quarterback is having himself a season to remember. Having thrown for 1,514 yards, a passer rating of 98.4, 293 yards rushing, 6 rushing touchdowns, and 6 TDs thrown, he is all over the stat sheets.
Hurts has been in a leadership position for most of his career. He was the captain of the Alabama and Oklahoma football programs. His college career was nothing short of remarkable, as he is one of three players in the history of the SEC to have 3,600 passing yards and 1,200 rushing yards. Despite his accomplishments, he fell to the second round of the 2020 NFL draft as teams were afraid to touch him due to his average throwing abilities.
Jalen Hurts has played a big role in helping change the locker room culture of the Philadelphia Eagles:
NFL teams look to quarterbacks who can throw the ball, their ability to run the ball is a secondary. While looking at Hurts, his primary skill set was rushing the ball, and throwing was the second-best thing he did. The Philadelphia Eagles drafted Wentz with the 53rd pick to keep him as an insurance policy for Carson Wentz. Little did they know that Hurts would end up beating Wentz and take the starter’s role away from him.
Jalen Hurts started the season for the Eagles last season and we saw all the concerns of the NFL scouts turn out to be true. He was good at rushing the ball, but he struggled to throw the ball. His accuracy was way off and his legs were his best asset. However, there is one thing the scouts failed to take into account about Jalen Hurts. His intangibles. Once the man decides to work and get better at anything, he does not stop till he achieves it.
Jalen Hurts has hit the weight room this offseason and you can clearly tell. In addition to that, he has also worked on improving his throwing skills. The Philadelphia Eagles solidified the offense by adding A.J. Brown to the mix and Hurts has improved his chemistry with DeVonta Smith.
The quarterback has shown us he is worthy of being the face of the Philadelphia franchise, but his intangibles far outweigh his skills. He is a great leader and an even better teammate. After every single win, Hurts goes around and thanks each of his teammates for their contributions.
At every press conference, his mindset is to never be satisfied with regular season wins. He has his eye on the big prize, which is the Super Bowl. He is the kind of guy any team would want to build their franchise around. You want a presence like him in the locker room. The best part is that the fans love him.
Twitter has been buzzing with nothing but positive comments about Jalen Hurts and how he has helped turn the fate of the Philadelphia Eagles franchise around. Take a look:
You know it’s real when Skip Bayless likes a quarterback. This is the same man who downplays LeBron James despite his achievements.
The best play of Week 6. Jalen Hurts made that man eat his words up. To offer context, DeMarcus Lawrence in a press conference undermined Jalen Hurts and claimed he has not played Dallas yet so he hasn’t really played against a rough defense. Well, they played the Cowboys and beat them fair and square.
This man is here to change the norms. On the field and off the field. Jalen Hurts is making history in every way possible.
TOP DAWG.
He is definitely the most athletic quarterback in the NFL, maybe even better than Lamar Jackson.
This video is a testament to his ability as a leader, how can you not appreciate this man?
Pure class.
Numbers do not lie.
Man of the people as well!
Jalen Hurts is arguably the biggest draft steal in the recent past. He will be the face of this Philadelphia Eagles franchise and the potential on that team is immense. Hurts has not just won games, he is out here winning the hearts and respect of everyone.
