“This team will get Aaron Rodgers,” Tiki Barber warns Jets about sensational trade interest on QB from the 49ers
The New York Jets might have to sway off interest from the San Francisco 49ers in their bid to sign Aaron Rodgers this season.

Aaron Rodgers‘ future in the NFL has been a source of constant interest throughout the 2023 NFL offseason and continues to be so even now. He initially refused to commit his future in the league after a shambolic season with the Packers in 2022 as he pondered retirement.
After coming out of his four-day darkness retreat, Rodgers finally announced that he will be making a move to the New York Jets, ending his association with the Green Bay Packers. The announcement which came in March is yet to have been made official, however, with talks having stalled between both parties.
Even back then, Rodgers had said that the Packers and Jets were discussing the best compensation for Rodgers’ current franchise, which hasn’t come to fruition. Meanwhile, a sensational rumor has come to light that will have the Jets fans fear the worst in regard to dreams of seeing Aaron Rodgers don their jersey in the upcoming season.
Aaron Rodgers’ destination for the next season is still up in the air
According to former NFL star Tiki Barber, the San Francisco 49ers are also interested in acquiring the services of the 39-year-old and might swoop in on the deal at the last minute. Barber felt this would be a possible scenario if the 49ers decide to let go of Trey Lance and his backup, Brock Purdy isn’t completely fit to play a role this season.
“All of this little simmering coming out of this thing about Aaron Rodgers actually going to the 49ers instead of the Jets actually has some validity,” Barber said, via Audacy.
“If the 49ers trade Trey Lance, and Brock Purdy isn’t available to play this year because of UCL surgery…they will go get – and they’re OK with mortgaging their future – this team will go get Aaron Rodgers if he’s available, and the Jets will be stuck sitting out in the cold with their underwear on, and that’s it.”
Purdy had a dream start to the NFL last season but suffered a torn UCL in the NFC Championship game and is set to miss the majority of the 2023/24 season. Barber felt that the 49ers could potentially see a replacement in Rodgers even though it doesn’t bode well for their future.
