The 2023 NFL regular season is officially over. Apart from the 14 teams that qualified for the postseason, other NFL teams are going into off-season mode. Many teams have already moved on from their head coaches including the Tennessee Titans, who recently parted ways with Mike Vrabel following a six-year tenure.
On Tuesday, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported that the Titans have fired their head coach Mike Vrabel following an underwhelming 2023 campaign. Later, the Tennessee-based football team released a statement, officially announcing the news.

Earlier today, I spoke with Mike Vrabel and told him about my decision to make a change at head coach. As I told Coach Vrabel, this decision was as difficult as any I've made as Controlling Owner. I appreciate Mike's contributions to the Tennessee Titans both on and off the field.team owner Amy Adams said in a statement
Vrabel had a good start with the Titans, but the last two seasons likely sealed his fate in Tennessee. The 48-year-old former linebacker spent six years as head coach in Tennessee. He led the team to postseason in three of them. After reaching the AFC Championship game back in 2019, the Titans never won another postseason game under Vrabel.
In the last two seasons, the Titans failed to even the postseason and failed to have a winning record. To be fair to Vrabel, he never had a franchise quarterback during his time in Tennessee and had to work with the likes of Ryan Tannehill, Marcus Mariota, and Blaine Gabbert.
And now, following an ugly 2023 campaign, the Titans have moved on from Vrabel, who finishes his tenure in Tennessee with a record of 54-45 (.545 win percentage) and two postseason victories.
Social media ridicules Titans for firing HC Mike Vrabel
NFL fans, especially, the Tennessee Titans fans ridiculed their team’s front office for firing their head coach Mike Vrabel. The team officially announced the news on Tuesday and has been receiving massive backlash for it.

Many believe Vrabel never had a good roster to prove himself in Tennessee. Furthermore, people also believe the Titans can’t find a good replacement for Vrabel in the market. Check out some of the reactions attached below.
Nonetheless, Vrabel is expected to be one of the most sought-after head coach candidates in the upcoming off-season. Even if he somehow missed on securing a head coaching gig, Vrabel wouldn’t have any problem finding a job as a coordinator.
According to SportsLine, the New England Patriots are currently the favorites to rope in Vrabel, if they decide to move on from their veteran leader Bill Belichick.
