The duo of Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce is a deadly one. They have terrorized the league for seven years now and are in their sixth consecutive AFC Championship game together. Both Mahomes and Kelce have an integral part of the Chiefs’ organization and are one win away from yet another Super Bowl appearance. It is safe to say they have taken over from the previous QB-TE deadly duo of Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski.

On Sunday against the Buffalo Bills in the Divisional Round, the superstar Chiefs duo went past the Brady-Gronkowski tandem for most postseason touchdown passes by a QB-receiver duo in league history. The Chiefs’ duo broke the record in the third quarter after Kelce caught a 3-yard pass from Mahomes and took it to the house. The former New England Patriots’ QB praised Mahomes and Kelce for their effort after the game.

Brady tweeted after the Chiefs’ duo broke the record.

Brady and Gronkowski can at least find some comfort in the fact that they went 2-0 against this Chiefs duo in the playoffs, despite the fact that they lost this record to Mahomes and Kelce.

In the 2018 AFC Championship Game, Brady and Gronk’s Patriots defeated the Chiefs; two years later, with the Buccaneers, they completely destroyed Kansas City in Super Bowl LV.

Mahomes and Kelce will get a chance to add to their tally in the AFC Championship game next Sunday. The Chiefs will visit Baltimore to take on the Baltimore Ravens in the championship game.

Passing anything that has Brady and Gronk in it is special because those are two of the greatest players -- Tom is the greatest player, and one of the greatest tight ends of all time, and postseason players. It speaks to Travis and his work, him being able to go out there and make plays in big games.
Mahomes said in his postgame press conference.

The Chiefs won a close game against the Buffalo Bills in the Divisional Round of the playoffs. They were the underdogs heading into the game, but managed to stave off Josh Allen and the Bills enroute to yet another Championship game.
