“I locked eyes with him and barked at him”: Kelsey Plum shares her hilarious reaction when she first met Tom Brady

There is just something about great people, when you meet them, they give you butterflies in your stomach, they get you tensed, and end up leaving you awestruck with not only their achievements but also their aura. In sports, usually, when any fan, be it a common person in the stands or a professional athlete meets one of the top dogs of any sport, they are usually sweating profusely. No matter which sport the person is considered to be the greatest in, some stars just shine brighter than the rest and leave other stars with their jaws wide open. Tom Brady is one such star.
Brady has achieved more than what anybody expected of him, his greatness is such that even if we were to split his 22-year NFL career right down the middle, he would end up having two Hall of Fame careers, if that is not greatness, I don’t know what is. Tom Brady usually has this presence and aura around him that makes greats from other games and football nervous when they meet him. As a matter of fact, Shaquille ‘O Neal and Charles Barkley also admitted that they stutter when they meet Tom because he just has something different about him. Maybe it’s the seven Super Bowl rings that have earned him powers similar to Thanos or maybe it’s because of all those times when he has come back in games from a deficit that nobody considered was possible.
“Shut up, no he’s not”: Kelsey Plum did not believe the Las Vegas Aces when they said Tom Brady will be sitting courtside throughout the game:
We’ve heard multiple instances where athletes met Tom Brady and ended up becoming introverts or started behaving like that one awkward kid who does not know how to socialize. The latest athlete that TB12 silenced and left awestruck with his presence is the point guard for the Las Vegas Aces, Kelsey Plum. She admitted that she did not believe it when the GOAT was sitting courtside at the game and shared the hilarious story of what went through her head when she met him.
Plum in her post-game press conference said, “Tom Brady is my favorite athlete (Big surprise there?), they told me, they came before the game and said, ‘Listen, Tom Brady’s come to the game,’ and I said, ‘Shut up, no he’s not.’,” not a completely new reaction when you hear you are going to get to meet Tom Brady.
Plum further added that the Las Vegas Aces had to keep telling her that they were not joking about Brady being there, “He’s coming, he’s sitting on Gucci row.” Once the point guard was sure that they were serious and not kidding, she got excited and decided she had to put on a show for the GOAT, “I was like say less, SAY LESS, I’m gonna give him something to remember from this game, and I remember we played the first half, and I walked out, and I was just like don’t say anything, don’t say anything.”
Imagine seeing one of the greatest athletes of your generation sitting a few inches away from you, do you think you can easily walk away from them without greeting them? Kelsey Plum could not resist either, “I locked eyes with him (Tom Brady) and I was like ‘Screw it,’ I walked right up to him, dapped him up, gave him a big hug, and I was like ‘Man you’re a DAWG, I love you.’ “
Brady was not surprised at this but at the same time he probably did not see that coming which is why he responded with a “YEAH.” Kelsey Plum believes that they connected during this brief interaction and that meeting Brady was nothing short of a dream come true.
