“Could this be my last year?”: Tom Brady makes SHOCKING revelations about his future in the league
Tom Brady
Tom Brady is an absolute superstar, the kind of player who multiplies the popularity of the sport many folds. Passing yards, completions, touchdown passes, or games started, the man has got numbers that seem too good to be true in almost all facets of the game. Not long ago, Tom Brady shocked the NFL world when he announced that he is retiring from the sport.
It felt like an era has ended. However, Brady shocked the world yet again when he decided to return to his favorite sport in a matter of weeks and is now all set to lead the Bucs in the coming season.
“My family needs my time”: Tom Brady
Although the world is happy over the fact that Tom is back, there is no doubt about the fact that he isn’t going to continue for an extended period of time. In a recent interaction with Ramin Setoodeh of Variety, Brady opened up about how long he is looking to stay active in the league before finally calling it quits.
“I really don’t know when I’ll be done,” Brady said. “I would say it’s year to year, could this be my last year? Absolutely. Could I change my mind? Absolutely. I’ve realized I don’t have five years left. I want to do it my way. I want to give it everything I got and see where I’m at,” he claimed, adding that physically, he feels good and although he has suffered a few injuries over the years, he is hopeful that the coming season would go on smoothly.
Talking about his decision to unretire just weeks after calling it quits, Tom said, “I made the decision in the moment, and I felt it was the right thing for the team to let the Bucs know. You need time to plan. And then through conversations with Bruce Arians, Jason Licht and my wife, I felt like I could still play and compete.”
Tom mentioned that he 100% committed to give his best on the field and continue for as long as he can but his family also needs his time. I’ve got a 14-year-old son who lives in New York City, he wants time. My wife, she’s been incredibly supportive of my career over a long period of time. So I had to talk with her, you know what I mean? Those decisions get made with me as a family. And I have two younger kids, one 12 and one 9, everyone’s got challenging lives,” he stated.
There has been a lot of drama around Brady this offseason. Retirement, then unretirement, then Arians losing the head coach job but all these things will get swept under the rug if Tom ends up delivering on the field in the coming season.
