Following his retirement from the sport, the New England Patriots icon Tom Brady has been involved in lots of business activities. The 45-year-old former quarterback is focused on multiple business ventures. One among them is buying a minority stake in the NFL franchise Las Vegas Raiders. However, his plans to own the Raiders might have hit a snag

According to reports from Mike Florio of the ProFootballTalk, NFL’s new ‘No-equity rule’ for employees and players has complicated the deal between Tom Brady and the Raiders owner Mark Davis to buy a minority stake in the Las Vegas-based football team.

The new rule prevents employees and players from being distributed equity in a franchise except for employees who are family members. Mark Davis had plans of employing the 15-time Pro Bowl QB as a part of the deal for Brady to buy a minority stake in his team.

Last week, NFL owners had a special meeting to approve the sale of the Washington Commanders. During the meeting, Davis expressed his concerns regarding the new rule and revealed his plans to employ Brady in his organization, according to Florio.

However, despite his concerns, the rule was passed and now Davis has to find other ways to keep Brady from backing out of the deal. The league reportedly cited that if an employee leaves the team, it would make it complicated if he owns a piece of the franchise.

Brady previously revealed that he plans to play a very passive role in the Raiders‘ management. Now he might not even end up buying the minority stake. If he doesn’t go through with the deal, the free-agent QB will be free to play for any team in the NFL again.

The 7-time Super Bowl Champion Tom Brady had a rough time in the last few months. He not only retired from the sport he loves but also got a divorce from his ex-wife Gisele Bündchen after being married for 13 years.

However, Brady is now back on the dating scene. After rumors about Brady dating several women, including Kim Kardashian and Emily Ratajkowski, Brady was finally seen with the 37-year-old model Irina Shayk a few days ago.

Brady and Shaky reportedly spent a weekend at the legendary quarterback’s home in Los Angeles. The Russian-born model was initially linked to Brady after their appearance at the Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin’s all-white party earlier this month.

As of now, there is no official news about the pair’s relationship, but from the photos acquired by PageSix, it seemed like both Brady and Shayk had a pretty good time.
