“Tom Brady played the greatest regular season game of his career,” Skip Bayless hails the GOAT despite CRUCIAL error against the Packers
Tom Brady Aaron Rodgers Skip Bayless
Tom Brady and his Tampa Bay Buccaneers faced the Green Bay Packers led by Aaron Rodgers in a week 3 game and it was an ugly scrap between the two Super Bowl contenders. The Packers ultimately won 14-12. Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers are two of the best Quarterbacks in the National Football League right now and both will for sure end up in Canton, Ohio but this game was a defensive battle with both QBs struggling.
In what might be a sign of what is to come Brady and Rodgers didn’t perform up to their usual standards. Although both QBs were working against odds with Rodgers still adjusting to his new weapons and Brady in a similar situation with Mike Evans suspended for the game, Chris Godwin still recuperating from his injury and sparse O line. Brady was sacked 3 times by a good Packers defense. Brady played an okayish game but made an error that prevented the Buccaneers from trying for a 2-point attempt to tie the game.
“The Brady I saw yesterday was flat-out masterful.” Skip Bayless has a surprising take on a mediocre game by Tom Brady
Skip Bayless is known for his surprising takes but this one is quite baffling as he believes that Tom Brady who has some of the most iconic performances by a Quarterback in the NFL, the stories of which will be told for ages to come played the greatest regular season game of his career.
Bayless first called out his co-host Shannon Sharpe on Undisputed Shannon Sharpe for calling out a possible end or fall off of Brady’s career for 6 years and being proven wrong by the GOAT again and again then he added that Brady again proved Sharpe wrong in this game.
Bayless said-“And you know what. It may be four more years before you’re finally right because, at some point, Father Time will be on your side, but at this point, you’re dead wrong again, because the Brady I saw yesterday was flat-out masterful. Brady I saw yesterday played one of, if not the greatest, regular season game he’s ever played under the circumstances.”
In his more than two decades long long Hall of Fame career, Brady has played much greater games for sure but for Bayless, the absence of Evans, Godwin, and a retired Gronk, and his injured center Ryan Jensen and depleted O-line all combined for to make it the greatest regular season game. Not sure many would agree.
