The college football season has officially started, and Tom Brady knows which team he will be rooting for. The retired player recently made a cameo on FOX and hyped his former side, the Michigan Wolverines.
Brady appeared at the Big Noon Kickoff to discuss the race for the Big Ten Conference title. But why the Wolverines? Well, they have been one of the best college programs in the last few years, winning the divisional titles three times (in 2018; 2021; and 2022). Unsurprisingly, the Michigan team is once again one of the favorites to go the distance under head coach Jim Harbaugh.
So, the 46-year-old would want his former college to bring another championship home. He looked confident when he announced his support for the Wolverines.
“Look, guys, I hate to ruin this for everyone else, but this is Michigan’s year,” Brady said. “We’re coming off two back-to-back Big Ten titles and two straight Ohio State beatdowns.”
Then he took a dig at former college football great Urban Meyer, who also has three Big Ten Conference titles to his name. Brady hinted that the Wolverines are coming for his record.
“Sorry, Urban Meyer. Look, Coach Harbaugh’s got all his key pieces back,” the future Hall of Famer said. “The winningest program in college football history is ready to go and make another [national] championship run.”
Michigan is already off to a flying start, brushing aside East Carolina 30-3 in the opening weekend, and will face the University of Nevada football team, the UNLV Rebels, on Saturday, September 9. The Wolverines reached the semifinals of the national championship last year, only to lose against TCU.
Tom Brady is looking forward to the future with FOX
Footballers can move away from playing the game, but it’s impossible to stop talking about or discussing it. Tom Brady is no exception. The former New England Patriots quarterback, even before hanging up his boots, showed a desire to remain a part of football. So, when he finally decided to call it quits, he declared that he would like to become an analyst. True to his words, the former Buccaneer signed a massive 10-year, $375 million deal with Fox Network.
However, despite the announcement, there was nothing concrete about when his fans would get to see him suited up and debate like a pro. There were even doubts that he would delay his first appearance until 2024, as the Super Bowl winner wanted to focus on spending more time with his kids. After months of speculation, Tom Brady finally made an appearance to support his former college football team, the Michigan Wolverines.
