Apple+ TV’s new sports docuseries ‘The Dynasty’ is revealing a lot of secrets from the team’s dressing room. It gave a special focus on the New England Patriots rise to become the greatest team to their eventual fall. The documentary highlighted some inside stories that were kept secret for years.
In the series, the makers emphasized on the first Super Bowl victory of the franchise. That was the beginning of the making of arguably the greatest football team. It had some funny stories. The documentary also took a byte of the former head St. Louis Rams head coach Mike Martz.
The Rams were favored heavily in the Super Bowl XXXVI. The analysts had put their bets on the team. However, the Patriots emerged as the surprise winner.
Remembering the game, Martz seemed a bit bitter. However, if any of the characters really enjoyed the victory, then it was Bill Belichick. His most trusted commander, Tom Brady, revealed that Belichick was so drunk in the mode of celebration that he smelled alcohol the next morning as well.
I was pretty worn out after that (game)-I didn’t party with the rest of the team. The next day, I remember getting in the car, and Coach Belichick, he was still f**ked up from the night before — I could smell the alcohol. I remember him saying to me, ‘Well, Tom, you had a pretty good year.’ That was his way of complimenting me.Brady revealed in the documentary
Brady’s ex-wife, Gisele Bundchen, lambasted Bill Belichick in a meeting
Apart from throwing light on the immense success the team achieved, the docuseries also had sour moments, one of which can create trouble for Bill Belichick as it revealed a controversial take on the head coach. Tom Brady’s ex-wife, Gisele Bundchen, was not very respectful of Bill Belichick. The owner Robert Kraft revealed the incident in the docuseries.
I heard Gisele say, ‘That effin’ Belichick, he doesn’t treat my Tommy like a man,'--I realized how bad the situation was, and I said, ‘Tommy, if you want to go, I’ll work it out so you can go.
Belichick was getting skeptical about the age of Tom Brady. He was looking for a possible alternative. A lot of personal meetings were held and in one of the meetings, the incident took place.
Brady finally bid adieu to the team in 2020 and went on to win a Super Bowl. Belichick has not won anything since then.
