Last month, the Argentinian soccer legend Lionel Messi shocked the world by signing a massive deal with the Major League Soccer franchise Inter Miami. Messi’s debut in the MLS has created a lot of buzz in the country, but the hype created by the World’s greatest soccer star couldn’t match the hype created by the New England Patriots icon Tom Brady‘s return to Foxborough.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady will return to Gillette Stadium in 2023 to be honored by the Patriots at their season opener on September 10 against the defending NFC Champions Philadelphia Eagles. According to multiple sources, the average ticket price to witness Brady’s return costs a whopping $391.
On the other side, Lionel Messi’s much-anticipated debut in the MLS is set to take place in Florida on July 21. A ticket to Messi’s first game with Inter Miami at DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida is $307. The World Cup-winning Argentinian’s Inter Miami will take on the Mexican team Cruz Azul.
Messi, arguably the greatest soccer player of all time, could not beat out the hype of the retired Patriots quarterback’s return to the Gillette Stadium. Brady, who was the centerpiece of the 20-year-long Patriots dynasty and led the Pats to Six Super Bowl rings, will be honored by the New England-based football team in a special ceremony at halftime.
The ceremony comes a few months after Brady announced his retirement from football. Brady is currently taking a break from football and will soon start his second career as a sports analyst with Fox Network in the fall of 2024.
