Super Bowl LVIII is just weeks away and the build-up has already begun. BetMGM came up with a very creative advertisement for the ultimate game, involving the GOAT, Tom Brady. The hilarious premise of the advertisement involves the greatest quarterback of all time not being able to wager on the sports betting app.
The Swingers star breaks the bad news to the seven-time Super Bowl champion in PEOPLE’s exclusive sneak peek of the commercial, which also features hockey legend Wayne Gretzky in a cameo. Vince Vaughn says in the advertisement:
BetMGM is for everyone that loves sports betting, everyone, but Tom Brady.Vince Vaughn in the ad
Brady asks incredulously:
Wait, what did I do?Tom Brady asks Vince Vaughn
Vaughn replies:
The truth is, you’ve won too much, Tom, you let others have their turn.Vince Vaughn’s reply
A sequence of would-be gamblers ask Vaughn if they can use BetMGM, and he approves of each one of them.
Among them are a tailgater, a woman who finds Brady attractive, and Brady’s former babysitter. “As long as you’re not Tom Brady, you’re in,” the actor says. Brady tries to disguise himself as ‘Tim Birdie, seven-time pool champion,’ but Vaughn does not fall for it.
Brady knows a thing or two about winning Super Bowls. The seven-time Super Bowl champion is the winningest quarterback in league history. That makes him the perfect candidate for a Super Bowl commercial.
Tom Brady had a special message for Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce after creating playoff history
The Kansas City Chiefs vs. Buffalo Bills game last Sunday was a historical game. The Chiefs won the game, 27-24 on the back of two Travis Kelce touchdowns, which also ended up breaking the record for most QB-WR touchdowns in NFL history.
Patrick Mahomes‘ second touchdown pass to Kelce was also the duo’s 16th touchdown in postseason. That broke Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski‘s record of 15 scores in the playoffs. Brady congratulated the Chiefs’ stellar duo on his Twitter account.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion tweeted after the Chiefs’ win:
BEASTS. When you one up Gronk you're doing something right.Tom Brady on X
Along with Gronkowski, Brady scored 12 touchdowns in the postseason while playing for the Patriots. He added three more at the Bucs, including two in the Super Bowl of 2021.
With an eye towards winning another Super Bowl, the Chiefs are preparing for their matchup with the Baltimore Ravens. All that now separates them from a trip to Las Vegas and the opportunity to win another Vince Lombardi Trophy is the AFC Championship game.
