The New England Patriots legend Tom Brady used to terrorize his opponents during his playing days, which are behind him now. There aren’t many players or teams Brady would be worried about taking as a player. But now, as a minority owner of the Birmingham City soccer club, he is glad his team is not scheduled to face Erling Haaland and Manchester City in the upcoming soccer season.
“Relieved to not see [Erling Haaland] on the schedule yet,” Brady posted on the social media platform X. This post came after Haaland terrorized J. J. Watt‘s Burnley in their English Premier League season opener. Last season’s Golden Boot winner Haaland scored two goals in Man City’s dominant 3-0 victory against Burnley on Friday.
The result is not unexpected. Burnley is a newly promoted team in the Premier League while City is the defending EPL Champions and UEFA Champions League winners. Earlier this year, the former Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt and his wife Kealia Watt, who is a former U.S. soccer player, both became part owners of the Burnley soccer club.
Nonetheless, Brady doesn’t have to worry about facing the threat of Erling Haaland and Manchester City yet since his team Birmingham City is playing in the second division of English soccer leagues and City plays in the top league (EPL). The only way Brady’s team could face Man City is if they ended up playing in either the FA Cup or the English League Cup. The schedule for those tournaments hasn’t been announced yet.

Tom Brady is making a lot of business moves since
Ever since the Tampa Bay Buccaneers icon Tom Brady retired from playing football, he has been involved in a lot of business deals. He recently purchased minority stakes in the WNBA franchise Las Vegas Aces and the English soccer club Birmingham City. Furthermore, he has agreed to a deal with owner Mark Davis to buy an ownership stake in the NFL franchise Las Vegas Raiders, which recently become complicated due to a rule change.
Apart from the business side, the 45-year-old former quarterback has also gotten busy in his personal since he’s gotten back into the dating scene. Brady is rumored to be dating the 37-year-old Russian-born model Irina Shayk.
The nature of the relationship between Brady and Shayk is unknown since neither of them has publicly commented about it. But the couple has gone on multiple dates and seems to be having a good time with each other’s company.
