Tom Brady may have retired from the NFL, but at heart, he is still a football player. The former quarterback returned to where it ended for him, at the home of the Dallas Cowboys, and was seen providing some tips to their opponents, the Las Vegas Raiders.

Before the game began, the seven-time Super Bowl winner strolled into AT&T and had a chat with Dak Prescott and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. He was greeted with applause from the home crowd.

However, if they had heard what the former Patriot said to their rivals in the tunnel, then the welcome may have been less welcoming. During the walkout, Brady, a minority stakeholder in the Raiders, told them, “Go ruin their [the Dallas Cowboys] night.”

There was a slight smirk on the faces of Jimmy Garoppolo, Brian Hoyer, and Aidan O’Connell when they heard Brady’s words. Even though it’s only preseason, this small exchange proved how much the former Buccaneer loves the game.

After calling it quits earlier this year, for real this time, Tom Brady’s primary focus remains his children. He recently celebrated turning 46 with his daughter Vivian as they gazed at the Savanna. Otherwise, he can’t stay away from football for too long.

In late May, the New York Post announced his minority ownership of the Las Vegas Raiders. It was a difficult process because the other 31 franchisees needed to agree with the decision. Moreover, Raiders majority owner Mark Davies wanted to employ his new partner, but that conflicts with an NFL rule.

As per Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, the rule states that no family or partner is unable to own equity in the franchise. In the end, Tom Brady was given the green light to go ahead with the deal.

While reporters asked Brady why the Raiders when he grew up a 49ers fan, he highlighted the rivalry between the teams. “They’re [the Raiders] an iconic NFL franchise,” he said. “When I look at the people that have impacted the NFL in the most positive way, (former Raiders owner) Al Davis is one of them.”

Meanwhile, he struck a 10-year, $375 million broadcasting deal with Fox Sports, poised to become an analyst in 2024. This may be a conflict of interest for Brady considering the Raiders connection, but he said it won’t impact his duties. He also bought a share in the English soccer club Birmingham City FC.
