The New York Giants’ undrafted rookie QB Tommy DeVito is balling right now. He got a chance to prove himself after the Giants’ starter, Daniel Jones went down with a torn Achilles in week 9. Since then, DeVito has led the Giants to a 3-2 record as a starter. The Giants won three consecutive games before losing to the New Orleans Saints in week 15.
This new-found success has opened a lot of doors for the quarterback off the field. DeVito was supposed to make an appearance on Tuesday at the Coniglio’s Old Fashioned pizzeria in Morristown. According to owner Nino Coniglio, the agreement was in place for DeVito to visit the pizzeria for a couple of hours and sign 250 autographs for $10k. However, the pizzeria announced on their social media on Sunday that they had canceled the event as the rookie QB doubled his appearance fee.
The restaurant apparently received word from DeVito’s agent, Sean Stellato, that the QB’s “appearance fee would be doubling” from $10k to $20k. According to the owner of the restaurant, the fee increased after DeVito’s game-winning performance on Monday last week. DeVito though, fulfilled his part of the agreement and paid the pizzeria a visit on Tuesday, free of charge. He and the owner of the pizza place, Nino Coniglio shared a slice and shared it on their Instagram.
DeVito had a fantastic night on in week 14 against the Green Bay Packers. He finished the game with 158 yards and one touchdown while leading his team to victory during the final stages of the game. However, he and the Giants had a rough outing against the Saints on Sunday. They will play the Philadelphia Eagles in their next game on Monday.
Tommy DeVito replaces Sean Stellato with Maxx Lepselter as his marketing rep
The New York Giants’ QB Tommy DeVito has enjoyed a sudden rise to fame after leading the Giants to a three-game win streak prior to week 15. However, he recently faced a difficult situation regarding an appearance at a pizzeria in New Jersey. Although it all worked out well, DeVito has since decided to replace Sean Stellato with Maxx Lepselter, the president of Maxx MGMT, as his marketing rep. Stellato will remain as the quarterback’s contract agent.
DeVito met with Lepselter after the Giants’ 10-7 win over the New England Patriots on November 26.
To be in the New York market, being a New Jersey guy, I think his marketability is going to be there. He’s a great kid, there’s a lot of depth. I think fans will continue to be excited.Leselter said in an interview with the Post.
Stellato went viral on social media after his attendance during the Giants’ games. He grabbed the spotlight because of his unique attire as he was seen mingling with DeVito before and after the games.
