Tony Romo had the memo that Dolly Parton was all set to light up the stage during halftime of the Thanksgiving game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Commanders. What he wasn’t ready for was what the legendary country music singer would be wearing.

As Parton appeared on the temporary stage in the middle of the AT&T stadium, not only Romo but the entire venue was starstruck to see the 77-year-old donning the Dallas Cowboys cheerleader’s uniform. Not only was she glistening in the outfit, but her choice of songs also resonated with the 80,000 and millions of other football fans watching the game from the comfort of their homes.

After Parton’s performance wrapped up, the camera went back to Romo at the CBS Studio booth. The former Cowboys quarterback appeared to have felt the warmth of the ‘Jolene’ singer, but he forgot he was on live television.

He told cohost Jim Nantz, 

She was wearing the Cowboys cheerleading outfit. You saw that coming, didn't you? You said, 'I think she's going to go with a little cheerleading outfit tonight.' Wow, pretty good.

The hilarious part was that Nantz even tried to change the subject back to the game, but Romo did not understand the cue. He continued his monologue, 

She looks amazing, right? She's wonderful. Who doesn't like Dolly Parton?

Social media assessed Tony Romo as being giddy watching Dolly Parton

Romo’s words did not go unnoticed. His fanboy moment went viral in moments and has been making the rounds on the internet. While a section of the netizens accused him of being creepy for his words, others claimed to connect with the 43-year-old because they had the same reaction as him.

One of them wrote that Tony Romo appeared to have a crush on Dolly Parton.

Back in 2007, Romo and Hollywood actress Jessica Simpson hooked up. The ‘Price of Beauty’ star even kissed him on their first date. However, that relationship did not last very long. Just before Simpson’s 29th birthday, the two split up.

Two years later, in 2009, Romo started dating Candice Crawford. They got married in 2011 and have three Hawkins Crawford Romosons together: Hawkins Crawford Romo, Rivers Romo, and Jones McCoy Romo.

In an interview with People Magazine, Romo said, 

I was lucky enough to find someone who understands the demands of someone in athletics. She's a great mom and a great wife.

He is currently an analyst and football broadcaster with the CBS Network. They gave him a 10-year contract worth $17 million per year, making him one of the highest-paid NFL analysts in television history.
