The Colorado Buffaloes created a lot of buzz in the media after an upset win over TCU in their opening fixture. TCU made the National Championship game last year. The Buffs had a terrible season last year and won only 1 out of 12 games. They hired former NFL player Deion Sanders as their head coach in December 2022. He completely overhauled the roster and won his first game as the head coach.

One of the stars of that win was WR/CB Travis Hunter. He played on both sides of the ball and had an incredible game. He had 119 receiving yards as a WR and one spectacular interception as a DB. He is poised to have a great year for the Colorado team. He won’t be eligible for the NFL draft till 2025 but has already been on the NFL teams’ radar for his exceptional two-way play. He was asked about which NFL team would he like to go to on his TikTok stream.

On his stream, Hunter said, “My favorite NFL team is the [San Francisco] 49ers. But if I had to say, I like staying in Colorado.” He further continued by saying he has been linked to the Green Bay Packers and he doesn’t know why. “Everybody that I’ve talked to say I’mma go to Green Bay. I don’t know why. Green Bay is cold. I don’t got a problem with it. Why I gotta go to Green Bay?”

The Green Bay Packers moved on from their long-time QB Aaron Rodgers and will have Jordan Love replacing him. Rodgers will be with the New York Jets. Hunter will be an asset to whichever team he goes to. A long way to go though, till then, let’s enjoy him in college football.

Travis Hunter attracts Shohei Ohtani comparisons after his impressive two-way play

Travis Hunter and the Colorado Buffaloes are riding high after their thrilling win over TCU. Hunter played as a WR and as CB in the game and had an impressive outing. He had a mind-boggling interception as a DB and went for 119 receiving yards as a WR. Talk about two-way dominance.

One player who knows a thing or two about two-way dominance is Los Angeles Angels’ DH/P Shohei Ohtani. He has been brilliant in the MLB showing off his two-way skills as a hitter and as a pitcher. Hunter might be the football version of Ohtani. Still a long way to go though for Hunter, but if he carries this into the NFL then he might be called the NFL’s answer to Ohtani.

Hunter will be eligible for the NFL Draft in 2025. He has already caught the eye of a lot of NFL teams and is projected to be a high draft pick. The Colorado Buffaloes will play Nebraska in their next game on September 9 and Hunter will hope to continue his elite play on both sides of the ball. What a fun player to watch!
