A couple of days ago, a tragic gun shooting incident happened at the Kansas City Chiefs‘ Super Bowl victory parade, which left nearly 2 dozen people injured and 1 dead. And now, the Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has made a huge donation to a family of 2 young girls, who were injured in the shooting.

The Chiefs’ star tight end Travis Kelce donated $100,000 to a GoFundMe page started by the Reyes family, whose two daughters are currently in the hospital recovering from their gunshot wounds. Kelce made his donation under the name of his charity, Eighty-Seven & Running.

The Reyes family said in a statement

The family also revealed that the two children will be in casts for several months and are receiving physical therapy to regain their strength and mobility. Both girls, aged 10, and 8, were shot in the legs. As previously mentioned, two girls are still in the hospital and got a visit from the Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany Mahomes.

Apart from Kelce, more than 1000 people donated over $73,000 to the Reyes family’s GoFundMe page. Kelce alone donated $100,000.

The shooting incident happened on Wednesday during the Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade in Kansas City, Missouri. 22 people, including multiple children, were injured and 1 person was killed in the shooting. Lisa Lopez-Galvan, who was killed in the incident, is a cousin of the mother of the 2 injured girls.

Travis Kelce’s girlfriend Taylor Swift also made a huge donation

While the Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce made a $100,000 donation to the family of 2 injured girls, his girlfriend Taylor Swift made a similar donation to the family of Lisa Lopez-Galvan, who was killed in the shooting.

Swift made a $100,000 donation to Lopez-Galvan’s family via their GoFundMe page. The 14-time Grammy Award-winning singer also wrote a message to the grieving family.

Nonetheless, the police have arrested 3 suspects including 2 minors in the shooting incident according to multiple reports. The tragic incident happened after a personal beef escalated and turned into gun violence. The police claim it was not a planned incident.
