Travis Kelce, who is an alumnus of the University of Cincinnati, played football for the Bearcats, the college team. In week 7 of College Football, Kelce’s alma mater ended up letting him down as they fell 10-30 to Iowa State, which ended up costing him a bet.

The TE made a bet that if the Bearcats failed to win, then he would show up to his next press conference wearing the Iowa State mascot, Cy’s head.

And it happened. The TE showed up to the latest presser wearing the mascot’s head.

(It was) another friendly wager. Unfortunately, my Bearcats are struggling right now in the Big 12.
Kelce told reporters as he took off the mascot head.

Travis made this bet with Brad Gee, the Vice President of Football Communications for the Kansas City Chiefs, who happens to be an alumnus of Iowa State.

The Cincinnati Bearcats played for nearly a decade in the AAC, however, the team entered the Big 12 in 2023 and have been facing the heat from their opponents. The Bearcats have not won a single game yet. Their season record so far is 2-4 overall following their loss to Iowa State.

Travis Kelce is not the only NFL player to lose a bet involving their alma mater. Amon-Ra St. Brown, the wideout for the Detroit Lions, had to dress up as a leprechaun after he lost his bet with teammate Julian Okwara.

This was after the USC got blown out by the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 48-20. Travis Kelce played for the Cincinnati Bearcats from 2008-12 and caught 45 passes for 722 yards and 8 touchdowns in his final year.
