Travis Kelce’s dad admits not knowing son’s girlfriend Taylor Swift’s name the first time he met her

Ed Kelce‘s first time meeting with Taylor Swift rendered him speechless. Not because he was awestruck by the pop star or her stature, but because of the fact that he could not remember what her first name was!

In a guest appearance on Audacy’s 92.3 The Fan in Cleveland, Ed Kelce revealed that during his introduction to Taylor Swift, things did not go down exactly as expected.

When Travis has a lot of friends coming into town to the game, everyone meets at his house, although he's not there. Taylor walks in with a security guy, and I look at her, and I say, 'Oh my God! I know this kid, but I don't know what her name is.'

Ed Kelce exclaimed to his girlfriend, who was shocked that he had no idea what her name was. She chimed in and had to make sure Ed Kelce did not make things weird between him and Taylor Swift. 

You don't know her? This is Taylor Swift, you idiot!

Senior Kelce is likely to have been star-struck by Swift’s presence. He identified her and knew what she had done. He very well knew the impact the pop icon has over her fans globally but at that moment, he could not bring her name to his mind.

Ed Kelce also revealed in the same interview that his son’s relationship with Swift has led to a surge in the popularity of the Kelce parents. 

It's funny because last year, Donna and I were shown on TV screens, and we had some articles that were done. So, our (names) were out there. We were so popular, the Commissioner offered to let us sit in the box for the Super Bowl.

He further admitted that more fans have begun to identify the Kelce parents in public. Be it in the grocery store or any other place, one or two fans will look at them, smile, and come over to wish them. The reason for this surge is that since the cameras are focused on Taylor Swift during the Chiefs games, Donna and Ed Kelce are also right there alongside her. Thereby they have become more recognizable.

The couple have been going strong and after this season, some sources say they could be considering engagement. Despite their hectic schedules, Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift have been attempting to make and spend most of their time with one another. For now, however, getting a ring on the football field remains Travis’ primary priority as the Kansas City Chiefs are one win shy from going back to the Super Bowl.
