Who says Travis Kelce is not a good teammate? The Kansas City Chiefs‘ tight end went at it against Las Vegas Raiders running back Amik Robertson yesterday. He genuinely looked to be out for blood the way he lashed out at Robertson.

But what got the usually calm and cheerful 34-year-old to lose his cool? Well, it’s the game of football; it brings out the best and, more often than not, the not-so-pretty side of it during match days. The only answer to such moments is that every player wants to win.

A little over 5 minutes into the third quarter of Sunday night’s crucial AFC West rivalry game, Robertson seemed to have put all of his weight on Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice. This did not sit well with Kelce, and he went to back up the rookie.

He quickly pushed the Vegas rusher away as if he were a twig. His dominance did not last long as other Raiders players converged on Kelce to shield Robertson. A moment of a heated exchange between the players came to an end after the referees intervened. Fortunately, it didn’t escalate into an all-out brawl.

Kelce received a lot of praise for sticking up for Rice on social media. Not only that, a section of the netizens even took a slight dig at Robertson for picking a fight with a guy almost twice his body weight.

Travis Kelce became the fastest tight end to reach 11000 receiving yards

The eight-time Pro Bowler is one of the best in his position. There’s no two ways about it. A couple of weeks ago, he broke Tony Gonzalez‘s record for most receiving yards by a Chiefs tight end. Last night, he eclipsed the retired Chiefs great once more and became the fastest player to reach 11,000 yards in just 156 games (Gonzalez took 191 games).

Furthermore, head coach Andy Reid reached a personal milestone as well. The 65-year-old became the Chiefs’ winningest coach ever after his team secured a 31-17 victory at Allegiant Stadium. It marked his 125th win for the reigning Super Bowl winners, overtaking legendary HC Hank Stram with 124. He also has 130 wins in 14 years with the Philadelphia Eagles, making him the first NFL coach to own the win record for multiple franchises.

Rice secured his first career 100 yards along with the 5th touchdown of the season. Running back Isaiah Pacheco was the pick of the bunch, carrying the ball 15 times for 55 yards and two touchdowns.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes completed 27 passes for 298 yards and 2 TDs and climbed to the 4th spot with 21 passing TDs in 2023. The Chiefs leaped over the Jacksonville Jaguars to take the top second seed in the AFC. Next is a visit to Lambeau Field to play against the Green Bay Packers.
