This Sunday, fans will get to witness history when the Kansas City Chiefs face off against the Philadelphia Eagles, as it will be the first time that two brothers will face off against one another in the Super Bowl. Tight End for the Chiefs Travis Kelce and Center for the Eagles Jason Kelce. The duo recognized how great a moment this was for them, but it did not affect how they are approaching the game.

The brothers will be enemies when they step onto the field at the University of Phoenix Stadium. On their New Heights,” podcast, the duo admitted that it was the last time they would one another until kickoff on Sunday. The interesting part will be that since Travis Kelce is the team captain for the Chiefs and Center Jason Kelce is the team captain for the Eagles, they will have to face one another off midfield for the coin toss.

Here’s what Travis Kelce had to say regarding his mentality heading into the Super Bowl. “I’m just gonna act like I don’t even know you. So, at the coin toss, don’t fuc*ing look at me. Don’t try to shake my hand. You are the f**king enemy, bro.” It will be all business at the Super Bowl for them.

Jason Kelce did not back down either. He had this to say: “Well, now I know what your game plan is, and I’m ruining your game plan. Now that I know, that’s your strategy. I cannot wait.” Despite the trash talk, the brothers took note of what they had just accomplished. “Did we think it was going to be both of us? I don’t know. I thought it could happen. But didn’t ever fully anticipate it happening until pretty much last week.”

Jason continued, “Man, this could really happen. We could really have a ‘New Heights’ Kelce Bowl, and we could actually be doing this. Which is wild and kind of surreal.” Travis Kelce had this to say, “I feel like I’ve been getting asked this question my entire career…my entire time, I’m like, that’s been the goal to play my brother in the Super Bowl. Now that it’s actually happening, it’s like, man, it’s kinda sick.” Travis went on to say, “Someone’s gotta send their brother home, man.”

It is impressive that both brothers have managed to accomplish this rare feat. The last time we witnessed two brothers go at it in the Super Bowl was in 2013, when the Baltimore Ravens faced off against the San Francisco 49ers. It was the first time that both the head coaches of the teams were brothers, Jim and John Harbaugh.
