Travis Kelce is often regarded as one of the most successful TEs of this generation. However, there was a time when the Super Bowl winner was broke after just joining the league.
Kelce was drafted in 2013 by the Kansas City Chiefs. He was a third-round draft pick and earned pretty good money in his rookie season. However, the TE was pretty young back then and didn’t understand finance and investments.
The Chiefs TE earned around $1 million in his first year and spent it all on extravagant items. Kelce has admitted to buying high-end apartments, expensive watches, and McFly’s, among many other luxuries.
Kelce once spoke to former NFL legend Shannon Sharpe and explained how he went broke in his first year in the league. However, he also got an avid realization after being broke and soon turned his entire life around.
“I spent it all,” Travis Kelce stated. “I should have been on 30 for 30 broke.” After buying expensive sneakers and watches with his rookie contract, Kelce now advises all the rookie players to save their paychecks and hire a financial advisor instead.
Travis Kelce is also one of the best people to give advice regarding financial stability, as he currently owns multiple business ventures and earns around $5 million with his endorsements alone.

Travis Kelce practically owns a business empire currently

After the Chief’s TE went broke, he decided to focus completely on investing and spending his hard-earned money wisely. Travis Kelce then started to focus more on his game and invest his money into profitable business ventures.
Soon, all the things started to come together, and 10 years later, the 32-year-old practically has a business empire. Kelce has been an angel investor for many companies while earning $5 million annually through endorsements alone.
His endorsements and sponsorships include massive brands like Nike, Tide, T-Mobile, Old Spice, and McDonald’s, among many other well-known brands. On the other hand, Travis Kelce has also leveraged his newfound fame to grow his different business ventures.
He partly owns companies like Hilo Nutrition, Casa Azul Spirits, which is a tequila soda brand, and Kelce Krunch, which is his own personalized cereal brand. The Super Bowl winner is certainly an inspiration who is succeeding on and off the field.
