Just a few weeks after winning the Super Bowl, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce lived out his dream by hosting an episode of the comedy show Saturday Night Live on NBC Network. And, a few months after he lived out his dream, the Chiefs tight end has shared the experience of hosting SNL in front of a live crowd.
“You rehearse the monologues three or four times before you actually do it,” said Kelce during his recent appearance on Bussin’ With The Boys podcast. “There’s an entire dress rehearsal, where there’s a live crowd; and that’s the one where you every single skit, start to finish… That’s the one where you’re getting your bearings.“
The Chiefs’ Pro Bowl tight end further revealed that he was getting very emotional and had to check himself before getting on the stage to deliver his monologue. He said his legs were getting weak and his eyes were watering as he was getting emotionally ready to live out his dream of hosting SNL.
“Going out of that one, my eyes are watering, I’m getting real emotional, goosebumps, legs getting weak, and you open the door and you’re like, ‘You gotta turn it on, man. Get out of your fu**ing head,” Kelce stated. “It is a machine from start to finish… It’s just one of the coolest experiences.”
The Chiefs’ start tight end hosted the March 4 episode of the popular comedy show SNL. He delivered a hilarious monologue, making fun of himself and his brother, Jason Kelce. He also did multiple skits which were received well by the audience. Especially, Kelce’s “NFL Gives Back” skit, which was deleted by the network due to timing issues, was a huge hit on social media.

Travis Kelce feels like he is being underpaid
The Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce is arguably the best tight end in the NFL right now. He is an irreplaceable asset in the Chiefs unit and has been the number 1 option for Patrick Mahomes for the last few years.
However, he recently revealed that his agents have told him that he is being underpaid in Kansas City, but the tight end is fine with it. Kelce claims he loves playing for Kansas City and he prefers to win a Super Bowl rather than play for a non-contending team for more money.
Kelce revealed that Tyreek Hill signing a $30 million deal with the Miami Dolphins got in his head at first. But he eventually realized that playing for a winning team then signing a huge contract.
Nonetheless, the 4-time All-Pro tight end’s current contract with the Chiefs will end in 2025. Maybe next time Kelce will be looking for a bigger deal at the backend of his career. But for now, he is just happy to be playing for the defending Super Bowl champions.
