The Kansas City Chiefs won their week 5 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings at the U.S. Bank Stadium. It was a close game, but the reigning champions eventually got the road win and improved to a 4-1 record. The Chiefs’ superstar, TE Travis Kelce, had 10 receptions for 67 yards and one touchdown. However, he had to leave the game late in the second quarter due to an injury.

The Chiefs were trailing by three points with a minute and a change left to go in the first half. Kelce caught a ball at their own 30-yard line for a short conversion. However, the All-Pro tight end went down with an apparent right leg injury as soon as he caught the ball. It was a non-contact injury, as Kelce went to the locker room but returned after halftime.

Kelce reportedly got X-rays on his injured leg during halftime and was right back on the field to play in the second half. He did not participate in the Chiefs’ first drive at the start of the third quarter but was back on the field for the next one. Kelce has had social media buzzing the past couple of weeks as he has been rumored to be dating the iconic pop star, Taylor Swift.

The Chiefs, though, got what they came for as the defending champions rallied around their superstar TE and pulled off a 27-20 win. They are firm favorites to repeat as Super Bowl champions this season. They will play their next game against the Denver Broncos on Thursday.

Travis Kelce’s apparent leg injury is a concern for the Kansas City Chiefs. Although the Chiefs won the game against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, Kelce had an injury scare in the later stages of the first half. He did come back in the second half and help his team win the game.
