Stefon Diggs‘ nephew confronted Sauce Gardner during the Pro Bowl games on Friday. Aaiden Diggs, son of Cowboys corner Trevon Diggs, was in a chirpy mood until he came face-to-face with Sauce.

Usually, Pro Bowl games are an occasion for relaxing and getting to know players from different teams. Among the players who received invitations to attend was New York Jets second-year cornerback Sauce Gardner, who is quickly becoming a headache for wide receivers.

Besides being a great cover player, the 23-year-old knows a thing or two about trash-talking. He remains very active during game days and on X (formerly Twitter) off the field. But it seems that came back to haunt him when Aaiden saw him during the first leg of the Pro Bowl games.

The little guy went straight to Gardner and accused him of badmouthing his uncle, Stefon Diggs.

You were trying to talk trash about my uncle; I heard you.
Aaiden said

But that wasn’t all; he pulled a fast one on Gardner, saying,

And look what happened—he scored on you that Week 1 game.

Aaiden hit a bullseye. His uncle bamboozled the Jets defense on the opening day of the 2023 season. The All-Pro receiver recorded 102 yards and a touchdown on 10 receptions against Gardner’s stout defense. Diggs completed their sixth consecutive season with 1000 receiving yards from 107 receptions and eight touchdowns.

What’s next for Sauce Gardner?

Despite the Jets finishing the campaign 7-10, Gardner was one of their best players. His performance on the pitch earned him first-team All-Pro status with 11 passes defended and one forced fumble in 16 openings.

After the Associated Press announced the news that he had been selected as an All-Pro, Gardner revealed what goes on in his mind while on the field.

I love this game, I honor it so much. I always have fun when I am out there on the field, and I don't think about all that other stuff. If I am out there and the ball comes my way, don't let the guy catch the ball. If I can pick it, pick it.

Jets defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich had high praise for Gardner.

Some of the great players in this league, people just avoid them.
Ulbrich said, as per Jets.com

Gardner was named Defensive Rookie of the Year in his first season in the NFL. He registered 57 tackles, including 3 tackles for loss, securing Pro Football Focus’s No. 3-rated cornerback (88.6). Sauce is still on his rookie four-year contract worth $38.7 million fully guaranteed.
