Cowboys legend Troy Aikman drops a bombshell on his upcoming retirement date as esteemed NFL pundit on ESPN
Troy Aikman was a legendary QB who later went on to dominate the world of broadcasting as well.

Troy Aikman might be in a comfortable position now, however, the former Dallas Cowboys QB has often spoken about retirement and wants to live out the rest of his days doing different things. Aikman recently spoke about his retirement on ‘The Ticket 1310 AM’ and believes that he has a limited numbers of years left in his life. To live those completely, he will have to give up on other things.
“I always have been [mindful] of our time being limited. … So, I posed the question to myself a lot that, you know, if you’ve got ‘X’ number of years left, what exactly do you want to do with that time?,” Aikman stated.
He continued,“I don’t know how much longer I’ll do it. I’ve got a pretty good icontinueddea. And not to suggest that I’m retiring anytime in the near future, but I’ve got an idea as to when I believe that I’ll retire.”
Troy Aikman loves living in the city of Dallas, Texas and calls it his home. However, the legendary QB denied all the possibility of working as the GM of the prestigious organization.
Aikman is regarded as the legend of the game due to his immeasurable contribution to the league. The Dallas Cowboys won multiple Super Bowl titles throughout the tenure of his career. The former Cowboys QB then moved on to broadcasting after his extensive NFL career and signed a massive 5-year $90 million deal with ESPN. Aikman is now part of hosting the Monday Night Football show along with his co-host Joe Buck.
Troy Aikman believes his time has passed for a greater role

After spending numerous years with Fox Sports, Troy Aikman signed a deal with ESPN. However, the former Cowboys QB always had the desire to help out his team in any way he can. When asked about the possibility of him becoming the GM of the Cowboys, Aikman swiftly denied the rumors and believes that the opportunity of that happening has passed.
“I think that has passed. But there may come a time that I’d be interested in just helping out with a club, with an organization, and not necessarily in an official capacity. I think that would be enjoyable,” Aikman stated.
Troy Aikman is a Hall of Famer who will go down as one of the best Cowboys players of all time. However, the former QB is happy with the role he has achieved with the team and won’t back down to help them another time.
