Despite starting the last couple of seasons as contenders, the Dallas Cowboys, under their franchise QB Dak Prescott, have failed miserably in the postseason. The Cowboys’ playoff failures have puzzled a lot of fans in recent times. Now, Troy Aikman, who was the QB of the Cowboys’ dynasty in the 90s, has talked about the Dallas-based football team’s constant failures.

“They are really good, and they’ve got really good players,” said Aikman during his recent interview with Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “The organization has done a fantastic job. I think the coaches have done a great job. The players. All of it. They have won a lot of games. The problem for them, and they don’t need me to tell them this, they just have not played their best football when the games have mattered the most.”

Furthermore, the 3-time Super Bowl Champion Aikman went on to claim that nobody knows how to fix that and the players just have to play at their best during the biggest matches.

“You say, ‘How do you change that?’ No one has the answer to that,” he said. “I don’t have the answer to that. For our teams (in the ‘90s), the reason we succeeded and did what we were able to do, the reason teams all win Super Bowls, is they play their best football in the biggest games. That’s the challenge for each and every one of those players.”

Troy Aikman was the quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys during the 90s. He led the team to three Super Bowl championships and helped the Cowboys become one of the most famous sporting franchises in the world. He is currently working as a football analyst for the ESPN Network.

The Dallas Cowboys, led by former Pro Bowl QB Dak Prescott, started the last two seasons as Super Bowl favorites but got bounced out of the postseason by the San Francisco 49ers both seasons.

Now, the Cowboys are again considered favorites ahead of the 2023 season. They have a lot to prove to the doubters. The self-proclaimed American team has a lot of talent on its roster all across the field.

They also recently added elite talents like Stephon Gilmore and Brandin Cooks. Both would be massive assets for head coach Mike McCarthy and QB Dak Prescott. However, the Cowboys are currently in one of the toughest divisions in the entire league. The Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Giants are both competing for the Super Bowl title along with them.

It would be very tough for the Cowboys to clinch the NFC East division, but even if they could enter the postseason as a wildcard team, they would still have a shot at winning the title as long as Dak Prescott plays to his full potential.
